3. ID of the Spray Hose

With all of the pressure being forced through the pump and into the line, having a hose carrying the load is critical. A high-pressure agricultural hose is required!

Rule of Thumb: Match the hose’s ID (Internal Diameter) to the pump’s flow rate for the best distance. For example, if you have a 20 GPM pump, don’t use a 3/8″ ID hose since it would undermine the purpose of the greater flow rate. A 20 GPM pump should have an internal diameter of 1/2″ or 3/4″. You’ll get an extra 5-10 feet with the 3/4″ ID.

4. Spray Gun

The gun is the last element. You’ll be able to reach the tops of tall trees if you use a spray gun built for long-range, high pressure.

Rule of Thumb: Make sure the internal tubing and spray tips you’re utilizing are compatible. The spray tip orifice size, which determines the spray distance, is adjustable on most guns.
